When you hear the name Kid Buu, you probably have childhood memories Of arguably one of the greatest anime cartoons of all time, Dragonball Z, and one of its most legendary villains, Majin Buu.
However, if you ask today’s generation who Kid Buu reminds them of, you will most likely get mixed criticism of the man pictured above. Kid Buu is a underground rapper that is making headlines and waves across the Internet due to his strange Emo-rap appearance as well as some of his type beat rap songs that have an awfully similar sound to those of Xxxtentacion and Lil Pump.
The upcoming Internet sensation is widely on the thin line of being loved and hated, much in part due to his uncomfortably similar sound and style to today’s biggest rappers in the new generation of hip-hop. He brandishes pink dreads along with the arguably required face tattoos seen with new rappers today, and can be seen in several of his Instagram videos wearing expensive Gucci facemasks and playing with flamethrowers. At first glance, we thought we were looking at new Instagram stuntman of the likes of Boonk Gang and Supreme Patty. But after some deliberation and research, we feel as though Kid Buu is trying to surf the waves of many of today’s biggest rappers rather than making a persona of his own. In his song “Death To SoundCloud”, the rapper shares a strangely similar flow to that of Ski Mask the Slump God, as well as Xxxtentacions in particular.
