Pop princess Ariana Grande has taken the number one spot on the Billboard 200 for the third time in her short career with the release of her fourth studio album, “Sweetener”. The album, released on August 17th, was able to push 231,000 units in its opening week with about 137,000 of those being pure album sales.
Grande’s 2013 debut album Yours Truly along with her 2014 sophomore album My Everything both accomplished the feat of reaching number one. Her third album, Dangerous Woman, is her only release to date to not reach the top billboard spot, debuting and peaking at number 2 under Drakes Views which reigned supreme at number one for 14 consecutive weeks.
With Grande taking the top spot, Travis Scott’s Astroworld now sits at the number 2 spot followed by Nicki Minaj’s Queen at number 3 and Drake’s Scorpion in the number 4 spot. Hopefully this doesn’t mean that Nicki Minaj will be coming for Ariana’s head next like she has with Travis Scott. I think we’re all a little tired of Minaj’s antics and complaining at this point.
