Cameron Dietz is a singer, songwriter, and producer coming fresh out of South Florida with hard-hitting lyrics on love, life, and finding yourself. His “heartbreak” image is very reminiscent of something missing in today’s culture. While the artist touches on subjects often covered in the R&B world, he does so in a manner not often seen in the music community. His fresh, Floridian aesthetic makes for a good listen and makes you want to find your own heartbreak in the world.

Recently we were able to catch up with the Palm Beach native and ask him a couple questions regarding his music, upcoming album, and everything in between:

Culture Cartel:

“Hey man good to talk to you, we really have been enjoying your content.”

Cameron Dietz:

“I really appreciate that”🙏

Culture Cartel:

“In your own words, Who is Cameron Dietz?”

Cameron Dietz:

“Man that’s tough. Sometimes I don’t even know lol. The obvious answer is a singer, songwriter, and producer but I’m just a guy tryna figure out what their purpose in life is like the rest of us.”

Culture Cartel:

“Definitely, I think your music speaks to that very well. What keeps you inspired to make good music?”

Cameron Dietz:

“I try to keep it as me as possible on my songs. I’m inspired everyday by the things around me. The relationships, the people that have come and gone. It’s all inspiring to me.”

Culture Cartel:

“The track “Hill Valley”, when you first made it did you know right away it was going to be one of your biggest songs?”

Cameron Dietz:

“Hill Valley was always the chosen one since I finished recording it lol. It spoke to people on a whole nother level and I think that’s why it tends to be a fan favorite. People can relate to it.”

Culture Cartel:

“What does the song represent to you personally?”

Cameron Dietz:

“I think overall it’s a song about seeing a future with somebody but it doesn’t work out. No matter what you do or how much you wish you could change it there are some things you can’t control.”

Culture Cartel:

“Tell us about your upcoming EP Lake Destiny?”

Cameron Dietz:

“That’s gonna be wild. I haven’t put out a full project in awhile so I’m excited. I’ve been working on myself and I feel good. It’ll definitely show on this one. If I didn’t win you over with Hill Valley, Lake Destiny will do the trick I promise.”

Culture Cartel:

“Sounds great. Who does Cameron Dietz consider major influences for his work?”

Cameron Dietz:

“In no particular order: Dru Hill, Cudi, Pharrell, JT, Kanye, Joe, Cee Lo, Earth, Wind, & Fire, man I could go on for days. I am a true student of the game.”

Culture Cartel:

“That’s a very iconic list. Great choices of influence. Lastly, What can we expect from Cameron Dietz in the future?”

Cameron Dietz:

“More songs y’all can relate too. More content y’all can bump when you’re dealing with a break up lol. But our future is gonna be bright. Can’t wait to share it with everybody. Lake Destiny coming soon.”

Culture Cartel:

“We agree completely. Great talking with you Cameron! Keep up the great content and we’re looking forward to see what’s next for you.”

Cameron Dietz:

“Hey thank you so much for having me. Looking forward to working together in the future. Keep me posted.“
