Jack Morgan is a skateboarder, seasoned bartender, and most recently, and notoriously, an Internet comedian. He performs multiple skits which include his signature characters “Kodak Jack”, a rollerskating man from “Sheboygan” , and a range of other personalities that leave you with a grin and wanting more. Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, the funny man is now making power moves out in Long Beach on the good ol’ West Coast. He recently started an Uber job on the side to have more time and energy to focus on his comedy material and has gained an organic following on his social media accounts. Often seen as a comic throughout his upcoming, Jack finally decided to go after the dream of being an Instagram star and internet comedian, and it seems he has a substantial chance at achieving just that. Recently, Culture Cartel  was able to catch up with Jack and ask him a couple questions regarding his passions, life up to this point in time, and plans for the bright future ahead.

Culture Cartel:

“Hey bro, good to talk with you. Tell us a little about who Jack Morgan is?“

Jack Morgan:

I’m just a small time drug dealer from Cincinnati with big dreams of being a instagram superstar…Sorry lol. Man I don’t think I know who I am this is a hard question lol Well I’m white and my middle names Brian soooo I feel like people can relate to that.”

Culture Cartel:

“Hell Yes.”

Jack Morgan:

“Been skateboarding for 20 years this year and I said my first joke when I was two.”

Culture Cartel:

Haha so you living in Long Beach currently ? That must be great for skateboarding.

Jack Morgan:

“Oh yeah ‘the place’ actually lol I just wanted to skateboard for a living ‘living’ but over the past 15 years people just kept asking me if I was a ‘comedian’ or an ‘actor’ and after like a few hundred people asked that question I realized that I was in the wrong game. I still skate for fun but over the past 8 months I just went all in on making videos and shit soo yeah I’m glad I listened to the people.”

Culture Cartel:

“That’s awesome. You seem to have a certain energy about you that I could see you coming off as an actor or comedian to people. You ever think of mixing skateboarding with your comedy videos?“

Jack Morgan:

“That’s what my mom tells me lol Yeah I’ve done one video like that lol it did very well but at that time it was just me, a camera, and a tripod lol so I’d have to like force a friend to film me so it was kinda hard to do shit like that. But now I have a filmer and it’s so much easier to get shit done, like 4 times the out put its amazing lol So I’ll make more now that I have a full time filmer dude. He also skates so yeah lol But like I said I’ve been skating 20 years this year so I’ll always have something to do with it.”

Culture Cartel:

“Nice! Mixing two mediums is always a good idea. How has growing up a skater influenced your comedy today? I remember being a skater growing up and there’s definitely a certain culture in the skating community.“

Jack Morgan:

“Yeah there’s a total fuck everything but this mentality lol But since i grew up for like 15 years straight it was just every weekend going to Miami and street skating and filming every weekend ( stacking clips ) as we called it actually really helped because I already had that work ethic so it’s kinda like the same thing except I’m not eating shit on concrete and I’m just naturally good at comedy vs skating where I had to skate my dick off just to be as good as the next guy . But it definitely helped work ethic wise. And you hang out with a broad age range skating, it’s weird like that, so I think that helped a lot as a kid. And as an adult when your 24 and you have 15 year old young bucks coming skating with you it keeps you young. I mean you said you skated so I’m sure you get it.”

Culture Cartel:

“Totally understand what you mean! That work ethic carries on no matter where you go after skateboarding. What’s your biggest video to date?“

Jack Morgan:

“Yeah plus their both ‘crazy’ career choices so I’m definitely not a 9 to 5 kinda cat lol Um there’s a few of them, I haven’t had anything go viral yet. But this one video where I’m smoking a joint and talking to my self .. that one went bananas and  bananas for me is like 25k views and a few hundred comments lol 😂 But I’ll take it and there are a few others that did way better than I thought .. but honestly I just don’t have eye balls on me yet cus I like all my videos lol”

Culture Cartel:

“Haha definitely. I think I’ve seen that one. ‘Kodak Jack’ seems to have a viral component to it. It’s only a matter of consistency of content and a little luck with catching the right eyes.“

Jack Morgan:

“Yeah people like that one. When I did it, it was like a one time thing and it got such a good reaction I figured I’d keep that dude around lol And plus with the ‘hip hop’ culture I figured it’s a good click baiting thing as well so that’s a must now a days which I’ve learned recently is something you kinda have to do. It’s like face tattoos, you know like most those dudes wouldn’t get a chance if they didn’t have them so yeah lol gotta do what the people want and they like Kodak Jack so I gotta give it to them.”

 Culture Cartel:

“I know what you mean. You gotta ‘look the part’ just as much as you put out the actual content. It’s a package deal. What’s your day job like?“

 Jack Morgan:

“Yep lol I was bartending for a long time but once I decided to go all in on this comedy shit I decided to do Uber ( lyft ) so I can make my own schedule. For instance I was up til 12 last night editing a video to post Saturday, got it done and slept for 3 hours, got up at 3am, Ubered til 10am, came home and made the Instagram edit for the same video, after it was done rendering took an hour nap, and now I’m talking to you as I’m on my way to my bartending job I do twice a week lol So it’s chill, pays the bills and enough to invest back into future Jack so it works. So in other words I work 24/7 when I’m not ‘working’ I’m working on the videos and when I’m not working on videos, I’m working lol”

 Culture Cartel:

“Lol damn that’s crazy. The grind is real ! So you’re on YouTube and Instagram only currently?”

 Jack Morgan:

Yeah it’s rough but I’m use to hustlin. Yep, Snapchat too lol but not as much as I should use it. And Facebook. You gottta use everything so I do my best but definitely insta is where it’s going the best and now that I have a filmer ‘partner’ shit just went up like 5 notches, so I’m hyped.

 Culture Cartel:

“Nice ! Instagram definitely is home to a lot of the recent viral material floating around. Who has influenced your comedy work? Any online comedians?“

 Jack Morgan:

“Yeah definitely helps a lot. Oh yeah I’m a huge comedy nerd man like movie wise – Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson , Vince Vaughn, Chris Farley , Chris Tucker and too many other. Stand up wise – Sam Kinison (R.I.P.), Jim Carrey, Chris Tucker, Eddie Murphy, Asia Ansari and Ellen DeGeneres. Believe it or not, that bitch was a great stand up, like no one knows that shit but she was fucking dope lol Internet wise like Jimmy Tatro , Cherdleys, Andrew Hales (kinda just like him as a person, I don’t think he’s super funny but he’s dope), ummm shit man there’s not to many that I really fuck with. I’m thinking 🤔 ummm shit lol 😂 Idk but the whole YouTube/Instagram world is amassing. But like No Jumper is dope (50 percent of the time), Gary Vee is the shit , Pewdiepie is dope (his current shit), this dude Cody Ko is dope, he just pretty much shits on people it’s pretty funny because I don’t like making fun of people. I don’t know that’s all I got right now lol I’m not boxing myself into one thing so I don’t know, I don’t see too many people doing it all: skits, pranks, vlogging, stand up, so I don’t know I just love it all and want in.”

Culture Cartel:

“Definitely! Lots of inspiration from a lot of different mediums. That’s good to keep an open mind when drawing inspiration. Lastly, where do you see yourself going in the next 5 years with your comedy?”

 Jack Morgan:

“Yep oh and Simon Rex (Dirt nasty), he’s probably my all time favorite. Shit hopefully I’m making a living off videos and touring doing stand up. Just get that internet money and show money and then buy some property on mars and call it a life lol .. but I’ll be doing this the rest of my life it’s just in my DNA. But that’s definitely where I see myself going. Just gotta get them numbers up and keep having fun with it and work my dick off of course but it will be worth it 🕶”

 Culture Cartel:

“Well man, we’re excited to see where you go with this! You got a lot of consistency and grind, and that’s almost always the recipe for success. Keep it up! And thanks for taking the time to talk with us today!”

 Jack Morgan:

“Thanks brotha appreciate ya 🙏and no problem man anytime ✅ Imma get this party started AKA work lol good talk I’ll see ya in the future 🔫🔫🔫”
