The hip-hop world is buzzing right now due to Kanye West recently announcing his next upcoming album titled Yandhi. He recently released the 7-track project, Ye, a few months ago and it was a surprise to fans that Kanye had even more music to gift us with this year. Set to be released September 29th, “Yandhi” is now said to have a featured appearance from the troll-god Takashi 6ix9ine himself in a track they’re already calling a “hit record”. Xxxtentacion is also said to have a posthumous feature on one the tracks, similar to his appearance on Lil Waynes recent album Tha Carter V on the track “Don’t Cry”. Kanye fan or not, you have to admit this is going to be an interesting album for the newer generation to learn of Yeezy from.
Is it just me, or does it seem like Kanye West is trying so desperately to stay relevant in the younger culture of hip-hop? First, he releases “I Love It” with Lil Pump, which is not exactly his best piece of work, and now Tekashi? Its a great business strategy in the eyes of album sales and marketing, but its kind of diminishing to his standards as one of the backbones to “old hip-hop”. No shade intended.
We will all have to wait until tomorrow to see what exactly the two rappers have cooked up together but it’s sure to make it on the Billboard charts considering the history of the two for making hits, whether you like them or not.
What do you guys think of this news?
