Vic Mensa has never really been the most straight edge rapper. He always seems to have a chip on his shoulder, is overly hypocritical when throwing shade, and doesn’t seem to understand how other perceive some of the crazy shit that comes out of his mouth.
That being said, it wasn’t too surprising when Vic took his opportunity at the BET cypher a few days ago to diss deceased rapper Xxxtentacion on the basis of his previous domestic violence charges. Mensa is apparently trying to gain some clout from the “Me Too” movement and become a champion for feminists.
Unfortunately for Vic, his attempts ended in catastrophe. People are coming at Mensa at all angles and calling out the rapper for his blatant disrespect and attention seeking behaviour. This is mostly due to the fact that X’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, was actually in attendance during the ward show to accept awards for her late son.
Vic took to his Instagram to defend his comments and give condolences to X’s mom, claiming he didn’t know she would be there during his freestyle:
Unfortunately, we will not be able to hear the cypher until the BET Award’s airs this coming October 16th. Until then we only have the witness statements and outrage from those in attendance.
What do you think of Vic Mensa’s alleged comments?
